Ensign Global College is seeking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic Chief Chef to join our established kitchen team.
– Our team provide excellent quality food throughout the college, including daily meals for students and staff and also large high profile events and private dining.

– We are committed to healthy, seasonal and sustainable food and would particularly welcome applicants who share our passion.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

-The post holder will be required to have undergone at least one-year professional culinary training or hold a recognized cookery qualification from any accredited.

– The post holder will ideally have gained previous experience in a reasonably wide variety of catering establishments, including hotel and/or restaurant work and preferably not restricted to the public sector; to understand the requirements of the differing customer types and to bring diverse experience to the College.

– A high level of culinary skill is essential to meet the wide variety of requirements, including student meals, conferences, functions and wedding receptions, day meetings and special meals. High standards of preparation and presentation are expected throughout.

– An understanding of the principles of food hygiene and the consequences of poor working practices is essential.

– We know that kitchens can be a very busy environment to work it, and so it is essential that you have the ability to always work clean and tidy.

– Have strong administrative and leadership skills.

– Have good interpersonal and communication skills.

– Computer literacy is mandatory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The successful candidate will prepare varied nutritious meals to a high standard.

• Plan the menus for all meals, functions and special occasions.

• Meet the required standards of hygiene and food safety by monitoring cleaning schedules and food and equipment temperatures.

• Assist in the continual training of staff and induction and training of temporary staff.

• Assist in the preparation of orders for the purchase of provisions and monitoring deliveries ensuring deliveries are accurate and stored correctly.
