Ensign Global College (EGC) organized a mini durbar to honor His Majesty, Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo, on the 25th anniversary of his enstoolment. Nene Sakite II also serves as the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and the Manya Krobo Traditional Council.
During the event, Nene Sakite II commended Ensign for its exceptional work in public health education through initiatives such as Health 2 Go. He emphasized the significance of education for the people of Manya Krobo and encouraged Ensign Global College to deepen its engagement with the community, specifically to address the pressing health challenges it faces.
Representing Professor Stephen Alder, the President of Ensign Global College, Mr. Patrick Kuma, the Registrar at Ensign Global College, conveyed his profound gratitude to Nene Sakite II for his dedicated service to Manya Krobo and beyond. Mr. Kuma highlighted some of Nene Sakite II’s notable achievements including his efforts to improve access to education, his introduction of antiretroviral drugs to Ghana to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS, and the establishment of an arbitration court for more effective resolution of legal disputes.
Mr. Kuma, noted, “We are honored to join the multitude of individuals who celebrate the remarkable reign of His Majesty, Nene Sakite II, as the paramount chief of the Manya Krobo traditional area. On this joyous occasion of his silver jubilee, we extend our heartfelt wishes for his good health and continued success.”
