Ensign Global College Promotes Menstrual Health and Hygiene

Ensign Global College (EGC), in partnership with ANEG Foundation and the Pad Project, initiated a campaign in selected junior high schools within the Eastern Region of Ghana. The collaboration aimed to promote menstrual health and hygiene education by providing resources and conducting information sessions.

The initiative aimed to challenge societal taboos and empower young girls by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and resources to approach their menstrual well-being with confidence and positivity.

Jane Nyarko, Cohort Nine, commented, “Empowering the girl child and youth is an ongoing process, particularly in this current era. It is disheartening to acknowledge that some girls are compelled to resort to desperate measures, such as engaging in transactional relationships, solely to acquire sanitary pads. Society should continue to support this issue and provide comprehensive support.”
