Dr. (Mrs.) Patience Aniteye trained at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, formerly the Department of Nursing and was one of the pioneers of the Department.

Dr. (Mrs) Patience Aniteye

Dr. Aniteye has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Zoology as minor from the University of Ghana, Legon. She also trained at the School of Public Health, the University of Ghana where she obtained the Master of Public Health (MPH) and the Master of Philosophy (Mphil) in Public Health Degrees in 1998 and 2003 respectively.

Dr. Aniteye undertook her doctoral program at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, England obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Epidemiology and Population Health (DLSHTM). She obtained a certificate for her Post-Doctoral Research at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, Canada in 2014. Professionally, Dr. Aniteye is a State Registered Nurse, a State Certified Midwife and a State Public Health Nurse.

Dr. Aniteye is a fellow of the West African College of Nursing, member of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives and Sigma Theta Tau International. Her area of research interest primarily covers women’s health with a focus on their reproductive and sexual health.
