Ensign Global College holds 8th graduation ceremony

Twenty-Four students of Ensign Global College have been awarded a Master’s Degree in Public Health at its 8th graduation ceremony.
This followed the successful completion of their studies in public health management at the institution.
Addressing the graduands, a board member of the college and Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, urged them to make a difference in their field of endeavour. He reminded the graduates of the challenging times the society faces and encouraged the new graduates to enter their respective fields with confidence and utmost professionalism.
Togbe Afede XIV, charged the graduating class of 2023 to be agents of prosperity. “you are going to work hard, my friends you have to have absolute commitment to your objectives, backed by determination, passion and loyalty to your organization, whether it is yours or somebody else’s”, he said.
President of the Ensign Global College, Professor Stephen C. Alder urged the new graduates to take advantage of their access to skills and “exceptional education” acquired as they go out there to serve society. “The students went through a rigorous academic programme. They have been in the classroom, they have been in the community. The graduates learned from a world-class faculty here in Ghana and leaders from around the world”, according to Prof. Alder.
Founder and Board Chair of the Ensign Global College, Dr. Mrs. Lynette Gay assured that Ensign Global College will continue to introduce programmes that are relevant for society.
Some new courses the college intends to introduce are:
- Master’s Degree in Business Creation which is expected to start in September 2024. (An individual’s business will be the course work).
- Master’s Degree in Health Management.
- Master’s Degree and Certificate courses in health and safety.
Deserving graduates were recognized for their outstanding performances. They included Helen Bour who picked the award for Overall Best Student and was the valedictorian, Ehoenam Ama Mawuenyefia won the Community Service Award, Frank Obeng won the Best Thesis Award and Patience Agbate was the recipient of the Association of Accredited Public Health programme 2023 Public Health Practice Award.
As part of the 8th graduation ceremony, Ensign Global College commissioned a new block, the Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Prosperity with a grant from USAID.
It is going to house all the new programmes that are expected to come into the college. The concept is based on the three pillars of Ensign Global College: Leadership, Professionalism and Entrepreneurship. The building is to inspire whoever enters it.
According to Vice Board Chair of the college, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, “the facility is available for the public for off-site meetings and conferences.”
Ensign Global College, located at Kpong in the Eastern Region, brings an international approach to higher education aimed to building capacity in West African ecosystems through knowledge, partnerships and community engagement.
The private health training institution has as its mission to produce, share, and train leaders to promote community health and prevent diseases through partnerships.
