From Ensign Global to Penn State:
Ursulla Frempong Reflects on the Lasting Impact of Her MPH Journey

Ensign Global University graduate Ursulla Frempong attended the ASPPH Annual Meeting in Crytal City, VA, just outside of Washington DC. During her time at the conference, she caught up with Ensign Global President Stephen C. Alder. The two took photos and reminisced about Ursulla’s time as a student, the growth the Ensign Global campus has seen, and how valuable Ursulla’s experiences in the MPH program have been to her academic and professional career.

In summarizing her conversation at ASPPH with Professor Alder, Ursulla shared some thoughts on her coursework at Ensign Global University and its impact. "Looking back, my time at Ensign Global University was truly formative. The faculty provided personalized mentorship and created opportunities for me to engage in research and apply my skills beyond the classroom. Their investment in my growth extended even after graduation, and those experiences laid a strong foundation for my current doctoral journey at Penn State." Ursulla added that her coursework and MPH degree from Ensign Global also allowed her to bypass some of the introductory courses often listed as prerequisites for doctoral study.

Ursulla Frempong graduated from Ensign Global University in November, 2022. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Public Health (DrPH) at The Pennsylvania State University. Her current interests and areas of research include autism diagnosis and treatment, the role of telehealth, and how access to care varies across populations. Ursulla’s story is just another example of the value of a Master of Public Health degree from Ensign Global University, its unique impact on students, and the tremendous domestic and international opportunities afforded to graduates of the program.
