Isabella Guynn, PhD, MPH

Dr. Guynn is a health systems researcher and methodologist specializing in decision modeling, systems thinking, and implementation research in low-resource settings. Her work focuses on applying advanced analytic and systems approaches to improve the design and delivery of health programs. She currently leads evaluation and strategic support for the Health2Go program in Ghana, a community-based initiative using a social franchise model to scale integrated community case management (iCCM).

Prior to her doctoral training, Dr. Guynn served as Associate Director of the Utah Area Health Education Centers (AHEC), where she led statewide primary care workforce initiatives, contributed to research on health systems and rural access, and supported funding efforts for long-term program sustainability. These experiences continue to inform her approach to systems-level research, implementation, and teaching.

Her research has been published in BMJ Global Health, Maternal and Child Health Journal, and Drug and Alcohol Dependence, with topics spanning child health, workforce development, and the use of system dynamics to explore complex public health challenges. Dr. Guynn has taught graduate-level courses in systems thinking and decision modeling, and she is well-prepared to contribute to core public health teaching in areas such as research methods, health systems and policy, implementation science, and program evaluation. She also welcomes opportunities to support interdisciplinary research teams as a methodologist.

As an Adjunct Lecturer at Ensign Global University, Dr. Guynn supports research, student mentorship, and program development aligned with the university’s commitment to strengthening health systems through locally grounded, globally informed solutions.
