Medical Elective in Public Health
The Medical Elective Program is a vital component of medical education, traditionally offering students in sub-Saharan Africa exposure to advanced healthcare systems. However, rising costs and limited slots abroad have reduced access. Public Health remains an overlooked elective area, despite its importance to global health goals.
In response, Ensign Global University, in collaboration with KNUST and the University of Utah, offers a four-week elective in Public Health. This program equips medical students with foundational public health knowledge, research skills, and global health perspectives—preparing them to integrate public health into their clinical practice and professional development.
